School Projects:

While in the College of Journalism and Communications at The University of Florida, I took many classes that helped me develop skills for the magazine industry. One of the classes included a design class in which I created a few projects.

Design taught me basics elements like color, layout and type. I learned the different aspects of type, like kerning - the space between letters - and leading - the space between lines. The class also helped me to polish my InDesign skills.

Web Sites:

The journalism field is ever changing and now incorporates more multimedia than ever before. UF is exposing me to the many aspects of the industry including how to code XHTML and CSS pages, and how to create soundslides.

Although I have worked with Photoshop before, I learned a lot more about the program and have also learned how to use other programs like Dreamweaver, Audacity and Soundslides.
